Rev. Kenneth N. Nelson has been Senior Pastor of the Seneca Community Church, Germantown, Maryland since 2006 and has embarked on a spiritual journey of caring, worship, and outreach to the community.

Rev. Nelson earned a master’s from Capital Seminary and Graduate School of Lancaster Bible College, and a master’s from Western Kentucky University. He received a Graduate Business Certificate (Leadership Development Program) from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. He received a certificate in Nonprofit Executive Leadership from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. He has a bachelor’s from Towson University.

Rev. Nelson is a gradate of Leadership Montgomery and completed the REAL Inclusion Program.

In addition to his ministry service, Rev. Nelson works for Montgomery College where he encourages skill and academic success for students, community representatives, and professionals.

In 2007 and 2010, Rev. Nelson was selected by Montgomery County's Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Committee (MLKCC) as a program participant for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration. He has served as president of the ICCC Ministers Group, and president of the Black Minister’s Conference of Montgomery County. Rev. Nelson has received several awards and appreciations for his contributions to the community. In 2018 Rev. Nelson was inducted into the Montgomery County Human Rights Hall of Fame. Rev. Nelson is married to Debra and they have four adult children.
